I need a second job. Haaaah. like i'll find one in this economy.
But this economy is the reason i need a second job. I know i'm not the only one.

This sucks. lawl.

Besides that, school is also a bummer. Grades slipped, but i'm a second semester senior, so it's ok, right?

I applied (and got in) to my school of choice, but one of the reasons i chose is was because it's a really good university and very few people from my school every apply there.
I found out today that there's another kid who's looking into the same school. I was devastated.
There are about 10 people in this school I could stand going to the same university with. That person is not one of them. hah.

I had a snow day today. My day went:
wake up at 5:30 a.m. & check the school website, saw the snowday sign, promptly went back to sleep
woke up at 1 a.m., ate lunch
went to my room, went online, talked to some friends, tried doing homework
fell asleep
woke up at 7, ate dinner
went online again, talked to friends again, drew this

And now note to self-
learn how to draw noses, lips, eyes, hair... everything? lol.

My piano teacher wants me to learn impromptu opus 90 no. 4 by schubert.

D: well uh, dang. it's going to take a while for me to learn the notes.

I assume the first step would be to uh, buy the music.
but i kind of was assigned to get it last week, and my lesson is tomorrow, and i don't have the music still haha.

But i'm glad i'm going to be putting to rest the Sibelius piece my piano teacher has been assigning me for forever. It's a nice song to play and all, but i'm bored of it :B

haha, the floor is clean but there's a lot of stuff on my desk and nightstand. I had to get the stuff OFF the floor so that's where i tossed it haha.

In a good news/bad news situation, I found this:

Which i got a gashapon in China. bad news is my brother broke it. The headphone panda is supposed to have retractable headphones, which you have to turn this crank in the back to retract. My brother broke the gears, and now they won't retract :(((( you can see its arms hanging around.
Suggestions on what to do with it? I could make it into something? *shrug*

Haha, that's one thing on my to do list done. after dinner i'm going to finish homework and essaying. D:

okay, WTF. tropical storm my ass. Yesterday it was dark and cloudy, then it began raining around the evening. There wasn't even a thunderstorm or particularly shocking winds. when i woke up this morning, it was fine. and really really sunny.

I had a really tedious dream last night. It involved ATM machines that didn't work. All i wanted to do was deposit money, but it just kept redirecting me to irrelevant shizz and the screen was really hard to see. and my sister and brother were getting really angry. and almost drove off haha.

it started raining. Tropical storm hannah FTW? i have so much work i need to do. power better not go out.
I'm aiming to get close to finishing 2 applications this weekend. i need to finalize my list of schools and talk to my guidance counselor.

So... this is a bit of a rant, but where i work, i'm not gonna lie, out of the high schoolers who work there, i do the most work. i can run every single major task in that store, from opening and signing off on purchase orders, running quickbooks, working the register, filing (haha), and doing wrap desk. hell, i even vacuum the place. Another high schooler in my grade just stands around doing nothing, the last time she showed up was in August. i was back at work today. I get paid minimum wage, she gets paid 5 cents more, which isn't a big deal, but it adds up, and i work waaay more than she does. There's another girl one grade below me and she gets paid around 8.50, which, when social security or taxes or whatever is deducted gets to be around 7.50. When I get my paycheck and the stuff is deducted, i'm getting paid around 6 bucks. I show up at work more than that girl, i do more, i know how to do more, and i've been working at that store for way longer than she has.

Actually, i have 3 pairs of dorky glasses. not all at a decent prescription though. that's just one of them. (with a prescription that works) they make my head look really wide. haha. anyway.

buhh. i'm getting kind of tired of all my classes already. i'm kind of not doing as well as i want to be right now. but i guess i have to work harder and stop being a lazy bum.

Oh, and effing sweet thing i found out about day 5 of my schedule, i have free period (orchestra doesn't meet that day for seniors ;D ), free period, free period (double lab doesn't meet for this day), then first lunch, and then class haha!
So i dont' have to be in school until 11:00. But i still show up anyway, because i need a parking spot, and it's an effing jungle in the south lot.

Tomorrow my precalc teacher is going to interview me so he can write a letter of recommendation. SUPER RAD. i'm actually looking forward to it because he is the most fun teacher ever.

Senior year of highhh schoooool. Today was the first day and I already can't wait until I graduate.

Lockerssss, so the deal with the lockers is the seniors get whatever they can. It was suckish mayhem because i couldn't figure out where the eff i reserved my locker. Due to confusion, i think i ended up reserving 3 different places. But finally now i only have one locker.

I also think I royally fucked myself over with my schedule. As it is, it's supposed to be

period 1 - Free / Double lab
period 2 - A.P. Physics
period 3 - Symphonic orchestra honors
period 4 - A.P. Government and Politics
period 5 - A.P. Calc AB
period 6 - A.P. Literature
period 7 - A.P. Spanish
period 8 - Free / gym second semester

my mom is concerned i will fail all my classes haha. But i figure i just need to keep up grades for the first semester, then when i'm in college i'll blow everything off. i say blow everything off i mean slack off to a B average haha. if it were any other way my mom would disown me :'(

So in case no one knew, my Chinese (first) name is 子鴻 (written in tradition, simplified is 子鸿), anyway, so the pinyin for that is "zi hong," hence i go by Hong because people never say "zi" correctly xDD

And i've been wondering for a while how that's read in japanese. I know that Japanese kanji is traditional Chinese, but i have no idea what my name sounds like haha.

So today [whileiwassupposedtobedoinghomework] i looked it up on Jim Breen's WWWJDIC, and it gave me this response:
